1. What is BTicz
BTicz is an independent, unofficial client application, developed as a personal project, that connects to a Domoticz installation (or other home automation systems in the future) owned or otherwise managed by the user. BTicz is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or in any way connected to the Domoticz project or any other product/brand mentioned in the app or on this site.
2. No warranty ("as is")
BTicz is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including — without limitation — warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, service continuity, or error-free operation. The app is currently in beta: it may contain defects and may change, be interrupted or be discontinued without notice.
3. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of BTicz disclaims all liability for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive or special damages arising out of or related to the use, inability to use, or misuse of the app, including without limitation:
- loss of data, access or configuration;
- malfunction, damage or unexpected behaviour of home automation devices controlled through the app (lights, outlets, shutters, thermostats, locks, alarm systems, etc.);
- property damage or personal injury, including theft, fire, flooding or accidents, even where related to a failure or delay of the app;
- connectivity outages, or unavailability of the user's Domoticz server or of third-party services;
- economic losses of any kind, direct or indirect.
4. Reliance on third-party systems
BTicz's correct operation depends on the configuration of the user's Domoticz installation, the local network/internet, the physical devices connected to it, and any third-party services involved. The developer has no control over these elements and cannot guarantee their availability, security, or the accuracy of the data they return.
5. Responsible use and user's own responsibility
You are solely responsible for the security of your account, your backend credentials, your network configuration, and how you use the app. We recommend keeping a physical/manual way to access critical devices (doors, alarm, climate control) that does not depend on the app.
6. Changes to this disclaimer
This disclaimer may be updated at any time without notice; the version published on this page is always the one in effect. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
7. Governing law
To the extent permitted by applicable law, this disclaimer is governed by Italian law. This does not affect any mandatory consumer protections you may be entitled to under the law of your country of residence.
